Character Sketches: Everyone gets to create a simple character profile with traits, likes, and dislikes.
Character in Motion: Kids move around as their characters, using body language to bring them to life.
Week 2: Unleashing Improv and Creativity
Goal: Boost creativity and quick thinking through exciting improv games.
Activities:
Yes, And...: A classic improv game where kids build on their partner’s ideas, creating fun scenes together.
Improvised Stories: In groups, kids make up spontaneous stories, bringing back their characters from Week 1.
Prop Improv: Kids grab a random prop and invent a quick scene around it—characters included!
Week 3: Crafting a Scene
Goal: Learn to create and act out scenes with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Activities:
Scene Structure: Get familiar with three-part scenes (setup, conflict, resolution) and start crafting them.
Group Scene Creation: Kids team up to develop short scenes that highlight their characters.
Scene Walkthrough: Each group performs their scene, receiving positive feedback to polish their storytelling.
Week 4: Lights, Camera, Action!
Goal: Put all the skills together and bring original scenes to life with fully developed characters.
